ALAIN SILVER began his production career as a trainee and AssistantDirector on features, movies for television, and television series. Shortly after working on his first independent feature as a Second A.D., he moved away from studio and network projects and has produced documentaries, music videos, commercials, and a dozen, low-budget independent features including Crashing, Bel-Air, Beat, Palmer's Pick-up, and Kiss Daddy Goodbye, which he co-scripted. He also wrote and directed an adaptation of Dostoevsky's White Nights and is in pre-production on three under $200,000 digital features. In his spare time he writes books (and does DVD commentaries) about film noir, gangster films, horror films and directors as diverse as David Lean and Roger Corman.
