miniPAH: California Hi-Desert coming in May!
As Spring goes into full bloom, PAH Nation heads to the California Hi-Desert on May 2-4. MiniPAH: California Hi-Desert will take place simultaneously in three desert towns: 29 Palms, Joshua Tree, and Yucca Valley. We will present four categories of competition: Cell Phone Art, DigiPortraits, Circus Vision, and Cellular Tone Poem. All events are free and participants get a chance to win cash prizes.FRIDAY, May 2

Digital Amnesty Opens for Submissions!
The 2008 Digital Amnesty competition is open for film submissions. In modern society, where art created by the people has become waste, Digital Amnesty provides another chance for films to be seen and heard all over the world. From a Fisher Price toy camera to a more pro-sumer camera, great stories can be told with any digital tool. Whether your story is dark or light, happy or sad, Digital Amnesty seeks films that celebrate the human spirit and showcase themes about good will and human connections.Films must be digitally shot and 7 minutes or less. Entry fee is only $7.77 and gives you a chance to win the 2008 PAH NATION Digital Amnesty Award with a cash prize of $777! Winner will be announced in October 2008 during PAH-FEST Hollywood.

PAH-FEST Chicago introduces Cellular Tone Poem
To tap into the creative process of hearing pictures and seeing music, PAH nation introduces Cellular Tone Poem competition during PAH-FEST Chicago. Local participants compose a 2 minute tone piece about themselves and their community. Then, using a video-enabled cell phone, participants find visual images that sync with their music. Bring your original scores, and we’ll provide a cell phone to shoot.Tone Poem takes place:

Finalists of Mobiflicks Competition at PAH-FEST: Chicago

Columbia College of Chicago to host PAH-FEST: Chicago 2008!
PAH Nation is pleased to announce that Columbia College of Chicago will host PAH-FEST: Chicago coming this Spring (March 22-30). Located in the heart of Chicago with a reputation as the largest and most diverse private arts and media college in the US, Columbia is the perfect venue for helping PAH-FEST attract every day people from all of the diverse ethnic communities in Chicago to bring and tell their unique stories during the festival. Academy award winning Sound Designer Richard Beggs to participate in PAH-FEST Chicago!
Richard Beggs, an Academy-award winning sound designer, will speak and coach at PAH-FEST: Chicago (March 22-30) at Columbia College.Richard Beggs, a sound designer and mixer on more than 60 feature films since 1976, has worked with Francis Coppola, Barry Levinson, Sofia Coppola, Alfonso Cuaron and other major directors. He won an Academy Award for sound for “Apocalypse Now” and a TEC Award for Outstanding Creative Achievement in Film Sound, and has received five Golden Reel sound nominations.
Beggs will speak about the creative process as a sound designer, and, as a coach, provide invaluable mentoring to his team. He currently serves as a PAH Nation on-line judge. We are honored and excited to have Richard Beggs participate in PAH-FEST : Chicago.

miniPAH: Crystal Lake coming this Weekend!
On his way to Chicago this Spring, Old Man PAH will make a stop first in Crystal Lake, IL to present miniPAH at the Raue Center for the Arts on Saturday March 1 and Sunday March 2, serving as the prelude to full-scale PAH-FEST: Chicago. Restored in the 1920’s and known as one of finest art décor theatres in the US with a long history of excellence in the arts, the Raue Center will provide the perfect backdrop for nurturing diverse and creative stories from its community. The two-day festival will include Cell Phone Art and Circus Vision, so come down to the historic Raue Center, and join us for miniPAH: Crystal Lake.
